Abode Alliance, formerly known as NYMC, was founded in 1993 by a coalition of visionary bankers in New York with the goal of collaboratively addressing community reinvestment. This non-profit organization facilitates affordable homeownership by working in concert with mission-driven lenders and a network of nonprofit housing counseling agencies. Their core mission revolves around providing comprehensive homebuyer education and counseling, primarily to low- and moderate-income families.

As a HUD Intermediary, Abode Alliance's HUD-certified agencies provide vital housing counseling, ensuring potential homebuyers are fully prepared for responsible homeownership. They aim to 'unify the field' of affordable homeownership across New York State, fostering collaboration among lenders, funders, non-profits, realtors, and policymakers to maximize equitable opportunities for underserved communities.

Since its inception, Abode Alliance has made a significant impact, providing homeownership counseling to over 60,000 individuals and families and guiding over 10,000 clients through their first home purchase. The organization is committed to scaling its affordable homeownership program through collaboration and programmatic expansion, building on nearly three decades of successful community development.
