Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) is a public corporation dedicated to providing Alaskans with access to safe, quality, and affordable housing. Making mortgages accessible has been a core mission, and over the years, AHFC's responsibilities have expanded to include affordable housing programs, energy efficiency initiatives, and senior housing solutions.

Operating from 16 communities statewide, AHFC is a self-supporting entity that has contributed significantly to Alaska's General Fund, providing over $2 billion for essential services and programs. These funds support building improvements, university student housing, state asset purchases, and the maintenance of state-owned property.

AHFC offers a range of single-family and multifamily loan programs, including options for first-time homebuyers, veterans, and rural residents. They also provide resources like homebuyer education classes and a loan wizard to guide prospective homeowners through the process. AHFC does not offer direct lending on single family loan programs.
