McClain Bank - Norman Branch

McClain Bank, originally chartered as McClain County National Bank in 1922, has been a cornerstone of the Purcell, Oklahoma community for over a century. Founded by John H. Perry, E.L. Sheets, and John H. Wells, the bank initially had total assets of nearly $300,000. Over the years, McClain Bank has expanded through strategic acquisitions, including the Chickasaw National Bank of Purcell in 1927 and several other banks in the following decades.

The Sherman family's involvement began in 1935 and eventually led to complete family control by 1980. The bank continued to grow, purchasing the First National Bank of Purcell and First State Bank of Lexington from the FDIC in 1990. In 2001, the bank rebranded as McClain Bank to prepare for increased presence in Norman and Cleveland County, opening its Norman branch in 2002 and its Noble branch in 2007.
